Herbatint Press Realease

In our quest to live our ultimate life, were not ashamed to want to look our best. We know all too well the value of a flattering haircut and a vibrant, attractive hair colour!

We also live in times where we strive to be conscious of what we put in to our bodies - what we eat and also what we smear on. But lets face it, who has time to censor the endless string of cosmetic ingredients the preservatives and other chemical agents? We avoid the warnings on hair dye packaging and focus on how radiant well look and feel post-pampering. Yes, our health is important but quality, quality is imperative.

Frequent hair-dyers concerned for their health, the health of the environment and also their hair will be relieved to hear about the arrival of Herbatint, an Italian herbal hair dye appreciated by women in 28 countries for the past 35 years.

Herbatint is the most natural permanent hair dye available in SA that provides 100% grey coverage and more conditioning, lasting colour. Its formulated with botanicals, proteins and vegetable extracts and contains no ammonia, no resorcinol and no paraben meaning it is a lot safer for us and a lot gentler on our hair without the distinctive smell and burning sensation were all so used to! Herbatint also contains substantially lower concentrations of PPD (diaminobenzenes/ phenylenediamines) and Hydrogen Peroxide than conventional hair dyes.

Herbatint is not tested on animals and packaging is recyclable.

Superior quality AND less health risk?

What is most refreshing about Herbatint is that consumers dont have to make the choice between health and style. Herbatint is available in 30 natural and fashion shades as well as Flash Fashion fun colours such as Henna Red, Crimson Red, Plum, Violet, Sand Blonde and Orange for the more adventurous. Herbatint leaves hair in better condition, doesnt fade and covers even traditionally resistant grey hair.

So what is the catch?

If traditional permanent hair colours all contain ammonia, what do we sacrifice by removing this ingredient?

Although its difficult to lighten black hair significantly, any other colour can be lightened two shades at a time. So you cant do something dramatic like go from dark brown hair to light blonde for example, but in every other respect, Herbatint works like any other conventional brand.

The origins of Herbatint go back to the 1960s and a family business in Italy founded by Michele Albergo, following his inheritance of the formulas and research of a famous Swiss herbalist to whom hed been apprenticed. Albergo had a passionate love for plants and nature and after lengthy research found a way of protecting the hair structure by reducing chemical ingredients and exploiting the natural synergy offered by certain vegetal extracts in its place.

You need an alkalising ingredient as part of the hair dying process, but Herbatint uses plant-based alkalines, with Aloe Vera, that have a maximum PH level of 8.5 (ammonia is 12.5), which avoids structural damage to the hair shaft. This also means that once the colour pi gments have been deposited, the hair cuticle can be re-closed reducing the phenomenon of dryness and split ends and resulting in far less colour fade.
